Next of Kin: Scottish Families and the Great War exhibition
1914 brought war to Scotland on what would prove to be an unprecedented scale. This touring exhibition reveals the personal stories of separation and loss experienced by Scottish families with loved ones fighting abroad.
Through a selection of family keepsakes, archive film and interactive content, Next of Kin: Scottish Families and the Great War introduces some of the themes and events of the conflict across the fighting fronts. With each venue adding new, local content, this exhibition provides a unique insight into the impact of the war felt by local communities.
This exhibition is part of the Heritage Lottery Fund and Scottish Government funded Next of Kin project, run by National Museums Scotland in partnership with nine museums across Scotland.
The exhibition will run from 11 November 2016 to 6 February 2017.
